Cryptic's Swansong
*sniffle*
Cryptic, the band I play keyboards for, will be playing its last show on Thursday at Styx. It's been more than two years since I joined the band. In these years, we haven't really been the most active of bands, we never practiced if there wasn't a show coming up (and there rarely was), and we've been the biggest slackers in town. Yet, I feel so attached to the band, and I don't feel like letting go. The memories are flooding my mind now... my audition, the first show, trips to Mumbai and Chennai, winning competitions, sleeping in a recording studio for a week, all night jam sessions, packing Styx leaving no space to breathe, releasing our own underground CD, organizing our own shows with great enthusiasm... great times, memorable experiences. We've had our share of differences as well, but the love for our music held us together, and strengthened the bonds between us. This band gave me the opportunity to interact with some amazing musicians, and I've learnt so much from them. I feel a void in me now, thinking that this band won't be there for me any more. Time to move on now, for all of us. (Here's wishing Durga, our drummer, the best of luck for her studies overseas!)
Do join us in our last gig at Styx, 7:30pm, Thursday, 19th Feb 2004. Read the news article about this on gigpad for more details about the show. A big thank you to all our friends who have supported us over the years!
